Ember, Day 1: Desires

For this holiday week, I'll be posting little bits of inspiration.

During my two week break instead of just making lists of goals for 2014, I'll be working with the ideas behind Danielle LaPorte's Desire Map.

I think this way of looking at our lives is pretty revolutionary, and it's one I've been "pushing" for years, telling people that desire is never a bad thing but rather it's a map to follow (so it was weird and wonderful to see someone so influential using that same language). She has taken the idea further and created concrete methods to help you identify your core desires in life.

I love it!

Here's a brief interview she did with Marie Forleo that I think gives plenty of ideas to get you started.

If you want to explore more deeply how to create an at-home dance sadhana (spiritual path) practice, you could join my super secret Facebook group, Inferno of Awesome. This group is invisible until you're added. FIRST, make sure you are my friend on FB, and SECOND, ask me to add you.

Yes! I have been working with The Desire Map since the spring. My CDF's have gone through several iterations and revisions, but I think that it is a naturally evolving process and revision is part of it. The list I have now lights me up and makes me feel buoyant and alive.
